Optional Service Charges

1. Baggage Allowance and Excess Baggage Fees (per piece each way)

For flights from Washington D. C., Newark, New York-JFK, Chicago to Addis Ababa and beyond 

1. USD200.00 will apply for each additional piece (bag) weighing up to 23kg  (50Lb) on the sectors between Addis Ababa to Washington D.C., Newark, New York (JFK) and Chicago or vice versa.
2. USD250.00 will apply for each additional piece (bag) weighing up to 23kg  (50Lb) on the sector from Washington D.C., Newark, New York (JFK) and Chicago to Middle East and Asia.
3. USD200.00 will apply for each additional piece (bag) weighing up to 23kg  (50Lb) on the sector from Washington D.C., Newark, New York (JFK) and Chicago to any other destination other than Addis Ababa and Middle East and Asia on Ethiopian Airlines’ route network.
4. For passengers originating from USA, outside Washington D.C, Newark, New York (JFK) and Chicago, please contact the first carrier for excess baggage information. 
5. In Economy Class, when the number of pieces is within the free baggage allowance while the weight of the bags is over 23kg but less than 32kg  (51 – 70Lb) the excess baggage charge will be USD60.00 per each bag.

Infant, paying 10% of the applicable fare and not occupying seat is entitled to one checked bag (piece) weighing 10kg, the sum of the 3 dimensions of which does not exceed 45 inches (115cm) plus one fully collapsible child’s stroller or pushchair.

For ShebaMiles Platinum, Gold, Silver, Blue and Star Gold members, the following additional allowance shall be provided in addition to the normal allowance.

3.  Unaccompanied Minors

             2.  Domestic 

Unaccompanied minors between the ages of 5 to end of 11 years will be accepted for transportation on domestic routes with Company escort by paying one way of the adult fare for the company escort and ETB 100 service fee. Unaccompanied minors between the ages of 12 to 18 can travel without escort by filling UM form and paying ETB 200 service fee. 4.   Pet Charges 

Service Animals

Guide dogs for the blind and deaf that passenger depends on are transported free of charge on all Ethiopian flights and may also travel inside the cabin. Please remember to notify Ethiopian of regarding the guide dog ahead of time.
