Ethiopian Airlines advises passengers traveling to or from Kigali between 21–28 September 2025 to plan ahead due to road closures during the UCI Road World Championships. Although flight schedules remain unchanged, travelers may face significant delays reaching Kigali International Airport. Passengers are commended to leave atleast 2–3 hours earlier than usual and stay updated via local traffic advisories. The airline will not be responsible for missed flights caused by traffic disruptions. Further event details and contact information are available through official Kigali 2025 platforms. Payment by bank cards issued in Russia is not available on the website. To finalize your booking and pay for your air tickets, you can send your booking code by e-mail to ethiopianairlines_ru@aviareps.ru daily or call us at +7 (495) 937-59-45. You will be sent a link to pay for your reservation with a Russian bank card.

You can also pay by cash or Russian bank card at the airline's office at: 9, Zemlyanoy Val Street, Moscow, BC “Citidel”, 8th floor. Office working hours: Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 19:00.

Please be notified that for flights departing from Washington, Ethiopian Airlines has temporarily limited excess baggage to a maximum of 2 per passenger making the total number of accepted checked baggage 4 per passenger. The additional 2 excess bags will be accepted on standby and may not be shipped on the same flight.

VISA for passengers transiting through ICN
Kindly note that since our flight will have a technical landing in Seoul, passengers with the nationalities Sudan, Syria, Egypt, Yeman are required to hold a transit VISA for South Korea.

Please be informed that if your flight has a stopover at Incheon Airport (ICN), based on the local requirement you are required to disembark, go through transit security screening, and then re-board the aircraft.

Travel Advisory

1. All travelers are required to submit thier SG Arrival Card before arriving in Singapore, except:

  • Those transiting/transferring through Singapore without seeking immigration clearance

  • Residents travelling through the land checkpoints.

Please note that the SG Arrival Card is not a visa. You may refer to the requirements for entering Singapore for more information.

2. All passengers with travel history to countries with risk of yellow fever in the 6 days prior to arrival in Singapore are required to have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. The Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate will only be considered valid if issued 10 days prior to arrival into Singapore.

Please note that airport check-in time for your flight on ET928 will be from 15:00 to 18:00 local time.

If travel is on a short-term visa, you will need to have a return ticket preferably on Ethiopia Airlines. If the return ticket is on other airlines, an indemnity will have to be submitted.
Long-term visas under process - Passengers need to carry the payment receipt and Declaration. Passengers will also need to have a single-entry visa to enter South Africa. If NOT OK TO BOARD pops up during the check-in system, passengers must contact DHA-South Africa to have the status changed and obtain a "Waiver of Unfavor" letter from DHA- South Africa.

Beware of Scammers

It has come to our notice that scammers are setting up fake websites with similar names to ours to deceive passengers. Our official website is www.ethiopianairlines.com and you can download our mobile app for easier and safer transactions.

Ethiopian officers do not call you for payment or ask you to transfer money to any specific bank account . Ethiopian has city offices and airport offices in four cities in Nigeria, namely Kano, Enugu, Abuja and Lagos; you may visit our offices for any further information.

Travel Advisory

  • Passport or national identity cards are required for all passengers traveling between Vienna and Copenhagen, along with residence permit or citizenship in one of the Schengen countries. Driving license or other ID cards are not considered as travel documents.

  • Passengers traveling between Vienna and Copenhagen who require entry visa to Schengen countries must have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa. Passengers who already used a single-entry Schengen visa to enter Vienna or another Schengen country cannot travel on Ethiopian Airlines flight between Vienna and Copenhagen as their single-entry Schengen visa is already used.

This fare is payable in Ethiopian Birr only if you are an Ethiopian citizen, or you have a residence permit in Ethiopia.

Note:

  • It is mandatory to present all the necessary documents upon ticketing (if payment is made at city or airport ticket offices) and at the time of check-in to the airline on demand. Failure to present the required documents may result in the denial of the passenger's flight.
  • If you do not hold any of these documents, your ticket must be paid with credit/debit card on the Website/ Mobile App OR pay in cash in USD, GBP, or EUR currencies at ticket offices.

Group Booking

Our booking system allow a single booking to contain a maximum number in party of 99 passengers. A maximum of 50 pre-reserved seat can be requested in one booking.

To assign seat to all 99 passengers in a booking, the booking must be divided in to at least two passengers name record (i. e. one with 50 seat and the other with 49)

Group booking is not available online. Please contact our local office or our global contact center.

331 days – for a trip only using Ethiopian flights

A group consists of at least 10 passengers (> 2 years old) traveling together over one or more flight segment.

Group Passengers must travel together on all outbound flights.

The price for a group is calculated independently of the lowest online price. It is calculated individually according to capacity and can be higher than the single seat fare sold online.

The number of seats available in the aircraft decreases per booking. It may therefore be the case that a seat is still available for an individual passenger at a lower price, but not to a group because of the number of travellers.

Yes, providing the required group size of at least 10 people remains and the group terms and conditions permit it.

If due to cancellations, the number of individuals in a group reduced to nine(9), it will no longer be considered as group and the booking will be handled as other individual bookings

Groups for which names are not obtained 30 days prior to flight departure date should be cancelled.

All group booking should have a group name while the PNR is created. The group name shall be assigned by the booking office. This will be unique name to establish the identity of the passengers traveling together,

The name of all the passengers may not be obtainable at the time of booking and such passengers shall be booked under a group name as may be established by the sponsor.

Group members name must be provided 60 days before the flight departure date. If that is not possible, the deadline for obtaining group name is 30 days.

Bookings for a group is not available online and it has to be done at our local office, call centre or via a travel agency.

Travel agencies are kindly requested to contact Ethiopian airlines group and operations team before any promise of space confirmation is given to the group.

All group request must be processed, evaluated and approved by a group controlling desk.

Yes, you can use online check-in for a group passenger. The maximum number of passengers to check-in at a time is ten passengers.

Meal Selection

You may select Special Meals 24 hours before your flight’s departure.

No, unfortunately meal selection is only available for confirmed flight bookings. Waitlisted and reserved bookings are not applicable.

Yes, you will still be able to choose your meals on board.

This could be due to one of the below reasons;-

  • If the flight departure is less than 24 hours
  • If the flight is operated by another airline
  • If your booking is on waiting list
  • If you flight is very short less than 2  hours

 Yes, you can change the amount up until the deadline noted in your upgrade requested email or up until your offer is accepted, whichever happens sooner. All you need to do to change your offer is click the link in the upgrade offer email and use the slider to select your new offer amount.

 To change the credit card information, you must first cancel your request and then re-submit the offer via the button on the cancel confirmation screen or e-mail you receive.

 You can modify your offer by clicking on the modify link in the upgrade requested e-mail you received after submitting your bid.

 No, once the offer window has closed you are no longer able to submit an offer. All offers must be made at least [50 hours] prior to the departure date of each flight segment. 

Customer Rights

Overbooked Flight means a flight where the number of passengers holding confirmed reservation and presented themselves for check-in within the required time limit exceeds the number of available seats on that flight/compartment.

Passengers who have been re-protected on other means shall not be paid with DBC if the delay at point of arrival does not exceed four hours when compared to the original schedule.
Carriage is denied for reasons beyond the control of ET he/she is not checked in before or at the latest check in time.
The behavior, health condition or immigration status of the passenger as such entitles ET to refuse the passenger.
He/she has refused to comply with the lawful instructions of ET
He/she has refused to undergo security check
Holding ID(Airline staff ticket) ticket or reduced rate ticket.
Holding a ticket blacklisted as lost, stolen, fraudulent or otherwise suspicious.

Denied Boarding Compensation (DBC) will be paid to a passenger who: 
Has a valid ticket purchased from ET or an agent of ET irrespective of whether the ticket is a document of ET or any other carrier having Interline Agreement with ET.
Holds a confirmed and valid booking on that particular ET flight.
Has presented himself/herself for check-in for the particular ET flight at the time and place specified by ET (before counter/check-in activity for the particular flight is closed) within the latest check in time or within the stations minimum connecting time (MCT) for connecting passengers and is in possession of the necessary travel documents.

All paying passengers who have checked-in and already accepted for travel on a delayed flight are entitled for the compensation program regardless of their original reservation status and the following will be offered:
Snacks and telephone calls will be offered depending on the delayed time.
Meal will be offered during normal meal hours.
Hotel accommodation may not be extended to local joining resident passengers. However, assistance may be given, if needed, in transportation.
