Ethiopian Airlines advises passengers traveling to or from Kigali between 21–28 September 2025 to plan ahead due to road closures during the UCI Road World Championships. Although flight schedules remain unchanged, travelers may face significant delays reaching Kigali International Airport. Passengers are commended to leave atleast 2–3 hours earlier than usual and stay updated via local traffic advisories. The airline will not be responsible for missed flights caused by traffic disruptions. Further event details and contact information are available through official Kigali 2025 platforms. Payment by bank cards issued in Russia is not available on the website. Please be notified that for flights departing from Washington, Ethiopian Airlines has temporarily limited excess baggage to a maximum of 2 per passenger making the total number of accepted checked baggage 4 per passenger. The additional 2 excess bags will be accepted on standby and may not be shipped on the same flight.

VISA for passengers transiting through ICN
Kindly note that since our flight will have a technical landing in Seoul, passengers with the nationalities Sudan, Syria, Egypt, Yeman are required to hold a transit VISA for South Korea.

Please be informed that if your flight has a stopover at Incheon Airport (ICN), based on the local requirement you are required to disembark, go through transit security screening, and then re-board the aircraft.

Travel Advisory

1. All travelers are required to submit thier SG Arrival Card before arriving in Singapore, except:

  • Those transiting/transferring through Singapore without seeking immigration clearance

  • Residents travelling through the land checkpoints.

Please note that the SG Arrival Card is not a visa. You may refer to the requirements for entering Singapore for more information.

2. All passengers with travel history to countries with risk of yellow fever in the 6 days prior to arrival in Singapore are required to have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. The Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate will only be considered valid if issued 10 days prior to arrival into Singapore.

Please note that airport check-in time for your flight on ET928 will be from 15:00 to 18:00 local time.

If travel is on a short-term visa, you will need to have a return ticket preferably on Ethiopia Airlines. If the return ticket is on other airlines, an indemnity will have to be submitted.
Long-term visas under process - Passengers need to carry the payment receipt and Declaration. Passengers will also need to have a single-entry visa to enter South Africa. If NOT OK TO BOARD pops up during the check-in system, passengers must contact DHA-South Africa to have the status changed and obtain a "Waiver of Unfavor" letter from DHA- South Africa.

Ethiopian officers do not call you for payment or ask you to transfer money to any specific bank account . Ethiopian has city offices and airport offices in four cities in Nigeria, namely Kano, Enugu, Abuja and Lagos; you may visit our offices for any further information.

Travel Advisory

  • Passport or national identity cards are required for all passengers traveling between Vienna and Copenhagen, along with residence permit or citizenship in one of the Schengen countries. Driving license or other ID cards are not considered as travel documents.

  • Passengers traveling between Vienna and Copenhagen who require entry visa to Schengen countries must have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa. Passengers who already used a single-entry Schengen visa to enter Vienna or another Schengen country cannot travel on Ethiopian Airlines flight between Vienna and Copenhagen as their single-entry Schengen visa is already used.

This fare is payable in Ethiopian Birr only if you are an Ethiopian citizen, or you have a residence permit in Ethiopia.

Note:

Baggage Allowances

Its 23 KG/ 50 LBs Where the piece system is applicable, each piece shall not exceed 23Kgs/50LBs.
 If the passenger insist to have in excess of 23kgs then it will be accepted with ‘Heavy’ label to
 a maximum of 32kgs in a piece by charging applicable excess charge.

The free baggage allowance under the piece system In ETHIOPIAN is for buisness class passengers 3 pieces of checked bags, each bag’s weight limited to 23kg [50 pounds] OR 2 pieces of checked bags, each bag’s weight limited to 32kgs (70 Pounds). The maximum sum of the three dimensions (length + width + height) of each bag shall not exceed 158 cms (62 inches) and for Economic class passengers may vary from sector to sector and shall be as provided by Pricing Section.  The maximum sum of the three dimensions (length + width + height) of each bag shall not exceed 158 cms (62 inches). 

Buisness class passangers are intitled 2(Two)piece 7 KG  Carryon Luggage Dimensions of 23 x 40 x 55 (cm)and for Economic class pax 1( One) piece of 7 KG  Carryon Luggage Dimensions of 23 x 40 x 55 (cm) .

The free baggage allowance shall be as provided by Pricing Department per class of service used. But on code share flights, the free baggage allowance will be as agreed with the code share partners.

Delayed And Damaged

Report Immediately: Go to the airline's baggage services desk at the airport as soon as you realize your baggage is delayed. This is typically located near the baggage claim area.

Notify Airline Staff Immediately: As soon as you discover the damage, report it to the airline's baggage services or ground staff at the airport before leaving the airport.

Fill Out a Claim Form:  fill out a damaged baggage report. Provide all necessary details, including your flight number, baggage claim ticket, and a description of the damage.

A PIR reference number, or Property Irregularity Report reference number, is a unique identifier assigned to a report filed to manage lost or delayed baggage in the World Tracer system, which is used by airlines and airports to manage lost or delayed baggage. When a passenger reports a missing bag, a PIR is created to document the incident and track the recovery process.

You need a PIR reference number because:
Tracking: It allows both the airline and the passenger to track the status of the missing luggage. You can use it to check for updates on the bag's location.
Record Keeping: It serves as a formal record of the reported issue, ensuring that there is an official acknowledgment of your missing belongings.
Claims Processing: If you need to file a claim for compensation due to the delay or loss of your luggage, the PIR reference number is typically required to process the claim.

For safety reasons, dangerous articles as defined in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, such as those listed here below shall not be carried as, within, or as part of passengers’ baggage:
Brief-cases and security type attaché cases with installed alarm devices; or incorporative lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnic material.
Trionic briefcases – similar to normal briefcases from outside.
Mace canisters – similar to cigarette lighters and sprays.
Gases (flammable, non-flammable, deeply refrigerated and poisonous) such as butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders.
Corrosive materials (such as acids, alkalis, mercury and wet cell batteries).
Etiologic agents.
Explosive, munitions fireworks and flares.
 Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter or heating fuels, matches, paints, thinners, fire- lighters.
Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder, and peroxides.
Poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides, weed-killers and live virus materials.
Radioactive materials.
Other dangerous articles such as magnetized materials, offensive or irritating materials as listed in the IATA Dangerous Articles Regulations.

Passengers traveling for Hajj or Umrah and departing from either Madinah or Jeddah are permitted to carry Zamzam water as checked-in baggage (one 5-liter box) free of charge for each pilgrim.

Provided that the below three criteria are all fulfilled, any sporting equipment shall be transported for free on Ethiopian flights.
1. The dimension of the sporting equipment is less than or equal to 203cms or
80 inches (Length + Width + Height),
2. The weight of the sporting equipment is less than or equal to 23 kgs even if it
is the 2nd PC.
3. The passenger is carrying only 1 checked-in baggage, making the sporting
equipment the 2nd PC.                                                                                                                                                          for transporting Snow skiing Equipment passenger shall pay additional 100 Usd. 

Any sporting equipment shall be transported for free on Ethiopian flights, provided that the below criteria are fulfilled.The dimension of the sporting equipment is less than or equal to 158cms or 62 inches,The weight of the sporting equipment is less than or equal to 23 kgs even if it is the 2nd Piece,The passenger is carrying only 1 checked-in baggage, making the sporting equipment the 2nd Piece.

In ETHIOPIAN flights Musical instruments shall be permitted to be carried in cabin as carry-on baggage so long as the dimension 
of the instrument (inside or outside of its package) do not exceed the carry-on dimension standard set by the airline. 
That is to say 23 x 40 x 55 (cm).
