ET303 - Mount Kilimanjaro Expedition (7 Nights / 8 Days)
Day 1 – Addis Ababa / Kilimanjaro - Morning arrival at Addis Ababa International Airport. Break fast will be served on board before flight arrival. There will be a two hours stay at departure hall so you can relax your self with morning sun raised behind the Yerere Mountain shown at distant in front of the gates. On arrival at KIA, you will be met and transferred to Ameg Lodge for dinner and overnight. Leisure time in the Afternoon .Before dinner a brief talk will be held about the Climb.
Day 2 – Kilimanjaro National Park - After breakfast you will be transferred to the Kilimanjaro National Park at Machame. Upon arrival and completion of registration, you will begin the adventure of the ascent on Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest peak in Africa and the tallest freestanding Mountain in the World!! Proceed through Mountainous Forest up to Machame campsite located at 10,000 ft (3,000m), for your first Overnight
Day 3 - Shira Camp site - After breakfast continue the climb following the steep ridge and across heath and moorland to “Picnic rock” and the Shira plateau to Shira Camp site, at 12,500 ft (3,800m), for your second Overnight.
Day 4 – Barranco Camp site - After breakfast continue the climb heading towards Kibo, crossing a broad valley and climbing to a ridge crest, crossing scree slopes and a river valley to reach Barranco Camp site, 13,000 ft (3,900m) for your third overnight.
Day 5 - Barafu Camp site - After breakfast continue the climb crossing the floor of the Great Barranco Valley, up to the Barranco Wall to the Karanga River, the last water point on this route. A steep climb over rocky slabs to Barafu Camp site, 15,500 ft (4,600m), for your final Night.
Day 6 – Mweka Camp site - The day begins with a very early start continuing the final ascent to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You advance upon steep and heavy scree reaching Gilman's Point on the crater rim of the mountain located at 18,640 ft (5,861m), and then on to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa located at 19,340 ft (5,895m). Descend via Barafu Camp site through the forest to Mweka Camp site 10,000 ft (3,000m), for your final night.
Day 7 - Ameg Lodge - The final descend takes you through the forest to the park gate at Mweka Wildlife College where you will be met and transferred to the Ameg Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 - Addis Ababa - After breakfast Transfer to the airport for departure to Home via Addis Ababa.
Nationals of the following countries can secure visa on arrival. The charge is USD 20.00. It will take about ten minutes on average to secure the visa on arrival. The list includes Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Luxemburg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
Nationals of countries not listed above must acquire a visa from their country of origin at the Ethiopian Embassy or diplomatic mission to avoid delay of entry or deportation.
All domestic flights are operated by Ethiopian Airlines with Bombardier-Q400 and Fokker-50 aircraft.
Flights are scheduled daily to the following destinations: Bahar Dar, Gondar, Lalibela, Axum and Addis Ababa.
