Every Mile accrued earns you One Award Mile

The more miles you earn, the more Awards you reap. Now you have the opportunity to exchange your award Miles for any Award in our Selection of Partner Services. If you wish you can also Award your pre-nominated family member.

The mile required for redeeming flight awards is calculated starting from the airport of Origin, determining the availability of flight to the airport of destination.

Example: How many miles do I need for a round trip travel between Bahir Dar and Mekelle?

Step1: Check Flight Availability

Flight Schedule: 

1. Bahir Dar to Addis Ababa. Vice Versa
2. Addis Ababa to Mekelle Vice versa
3. No direct Service

Step 2: Determine the Cabin

Flight Schedule: 

1. Bahir Dar to Addis Ababa. Vice Versa Economy
2. Addis Ababa to Mekelle Vice versa Economy

Step 3: Check Mile Required:

Flight Schedule: 

1. Bahir Dar to Addis Ababa. Vice Versa Economy Mile Required 5,000 
2. Addis Ababa to Mekelle Vice versa Economy Mile Required 5,000

Total Mile Required 10,000

Step 4: Check Account Balance:

Result: Total Mile Balance in Member Account       XX,XXX

Sufficient balance in member account to cover the Miles required allows the member to proceed and make ‘Award Travel’ Reservation with one of Ethiopian Airlines reservation or Ticket offices.

Insufficient balance in a Member account to cover the Mile required should not prevent redeeming the award. A Member can also purchase miles directly from Ethiopian Airlines at any quantity to balance the difference or accrue in member account for a later use.

To purchase the services, a member can request the nearest Ethiopian Airlines Reservation office (for payment in credit cards) or Ethiopian Airlines Ticket Office requesting the miles purchase option

Step 5: Book and Ticket in Advance

Ethiopian Airlines Ticketing Offices issue members ‘Award Travel’ Tickets upon the member’s request. The following is checked before issuing member with a ticket.

2. Pre-nomination of the passenger whose name is on the reservation, by the ShebaMiles Member who has the ShebaMiles Membership Account.
