Ethiopian Airlines is pleased to announce that it has entered into a code share agreement with
Air China. The code share agreement strengthens Ethiopian’s partnership with one of the
global airlines in China, allowing passengers of both carriers to have wider choices of services
between Asia and Africa. Currently, Air China operates 925 daily departures to 156
scheduled destinations throughout the world.
Under this agreement, the two carriers jointly provide fourteen weekly flights on the Addis
Ababa Guangzhou and Addis Ababa Beijing routes. The new code share will also strengthen
Ethiopian’s flight network between Addis Ababa and Asian countries. Likewise, the
agreement will provide Asian customers seamless connection via Addis Ababa to vast
Ethiopian network in Africa.
Air China, the member of Star Alliance, is the world’s largest carrier by market capitalization
with a capacity of 5,090 flights each week worldwide.
Ethiopian Airlines, one of the largest airlines in Africa, continues to enhance its network by
means of code share agreements with several regional and international carriers in Europe,
Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
Ethiopian Airlines, one of the largest and fastest growing airlines in Africa, made its maiden flight to Cairo in 1946. With the addition of flight services to Maputo and Bangui, Ethiopian provides dependable services to
